What is a premium prize bond?
A Premium Prize Bond is a high value prize bond offered by the National Savings in Pakistan. It was introduced in 2017 to offer a secure investment method to investors who want to earn a reasonable return on their savings without taking any risk at all. Unlike other prize bonds, Premium Prize Bonds offer a quarterly profit payout instead of a periodic draw. The profit payout is based on the prevailing market rates and is subject to change every quarter.
Premium Prize Bonds come in two denominations Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 25,000. The face value of the bond is the same as the denomination, and investors can purchase them from any authorized dealer or State Bank of Pakistan branch. The purchase process is straightforward, and investors need to provide their national identity card and pay the face value of the bond.
